Solution: The main goal was to convey simply and concisely the aims, ethos and scope of the project and to quickly get across the message that anyone interested in this subject - whether from academia or any other discipline - could become an active part of the project and consider the website an online HQ for it. We needed to introduce the key players, include an exhaustive list of publications on the subject and let people know about upcoming conferences and events. We also needed to collate and publish some of Victoria and Susie’s written articles on miscarriage and leave scope for guest contributors, whilst keeping it all easily updateable once I handed over the reins. We also solved the question of ‘what do we show in terms of visuals?’ by featuring strongly a series of abstact artworks which Victoria had come across that she thought was resonant to the subject. So I used the images as header banners and over the entire homepage, animating them in a way that seemed appropriate to their design.
